farewell

Well, friends, this is the end... in a way. After a lot of internal debate, I'm saying goodbye to this blog. It's been a good run here. I started this blog when we lived thousands of miles away from all of our family. It was a way to keep them updated on what was going on in our lives. Then we moved to Texas and it was a good way to keep up with the family of friends we'd left in Oregon. Over time it's been a mish-mesh of scrapbooking, journaling and a place to write when I felt so compelled. It's been wonderful and I've loved every minute of it.

But it's time for something new. I'm totally copying my sister-in-law, Jessica, and starting a whole new blog. One that is a little more private with a few less personal details, particularly about the kids. Facebook has already been meeting my need to keep up with friends and family and share funny little stories and pictures of the kids. So the new blog will be a place for me to stretch my writing legs, so to speak. It'll be a place for me to share my thoughts about the world and to write about things that inspire me. I'm sure the kids and Kyle will still make appearances there, just not as obviously or frequently.

I won't be deleting this blog altogether, there are so many things documented here, so many sweet comments from friends and family, that I don't want to lose. However, I will be making it a completely private blog- only for mine and Kyle's viewing- on Thursday, January 26. You are welcome to follow my new blog if you like:

food and fire for the mind

If there's anyone still out there reading and to all those who've read and commented over the years, thank you. Thank you for finding something worthwhile here, thank you for your encouragement and your comments. Thank you.
